In this episode, we look into the career of American trailblazer, Simone Manuel.
Simone is an American competitive swimmer who has achieved great success in the sport. She's known for winning multiple Olympic medals, including gold medals in the 100-meter freestyle and the 4x100-meter medley relay at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She's also broken several records throughout her career. Manuel has continued to excel in the sport, breaking records and inspiring many with her achievements.

We will share three lessons from her career journey:

1. Progress takes time: A lot of young athletes want a fast-track process. Forgetting that progress doesn't happen overnight; it takes time. You must have a plan of action, put in the work, and give it time.

2. Plan for rest and recovery: Rest and recovery are vital components of any athlete's training regimen. A well-structured plan for rest and recovery is essential for optimizing performance. This plan should include scheduled rest days, and active recovery activities which facilitate the efficiency of your performance

3. It is important to have role models: Role models serve as sources of inspiration, motivation, and guidance to you as a young athlete. This will help you navigate challenges, offering wisdom and support gained from their own experiences while you're striving to achieve your goals in sports.
