This podcast focuses on two articles, ‘Losing an arm’: schooling as a site of black suffering” by Michael Dumas and "How to become less deadly: a provocation to the fields of teacher education and educational research" by Asilia Franklin-Phipps & Courtney L. Rath while examining the very present segregation that still exists in North American schools today. We engage with this topic through the lens of being future educators within the system, as well as with the focal point of The Happy Affect and its harmful nature. We hope that you enjoy this episode and think about the work that needs to be done for equity in our school systems!
Thanks for Staying with the Trouble with us,
Grace, Natasha, Julia & Pippa
