The Historic and Haunted Eldridge Hotel, Part Two | Guest Dennis Sneed
In the 1850s, Kansas was a territory, and the battle was raging between the pro-slavery and anti-slavery factions. In 1855, the Free State Hotel was built in Lawrence, Kansas. There was no doubt about what the hotel represented. It was burned down on the day of its grand opening.
It was rebuilt by Colonel Shalor Eldridge. The Eldridge Hotel now stands on that site, and the original cornerstone of the Free State Hotel remains embedded in the wall of Room 506. It is said that Colonel Eldridge has never left his beloved hotel and is there to this day.
This is Part Two of our conversation with Dennis Sneed about the historic—and haunted—Eldridge Hotel in Lawrence, Kansas.

Haunted 1858 Garnett House Hotel, Part One | Advance CLASSIC
This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE!
In the 1870s, the town of Garnett, Kansas, was a crossroads of a new world. Settlers, cowboys, criminals, and the righteous passed through this now-forgotten town. Some notable characters of the day included Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Wild Bill Hickock, Buffalo Bill Cody, Belle Star, Jesse James, and many others who stayed at the Garnett House Hotel. And some of those guests never left. Screams in the night have been heard on EVP recordings taken at the Haunted Garnett House. One of the most disturbing elements of these screams is that they appear to come from a child. Who is this child? And what this child needed remains unknown. However, these screams are far from a one-time occurrence.
