English Channel - Subject-Verb Agreement

Fabindians Podcast

Episode # 16: Nikita Rajpurohit shares her views on the Subject-Verb Agreement.

If two people do not agree with each other, they fight. If some food you eat doesn’t agree with you, you fall ill. If two countries don’t see eye to eye, they may go to war. So you can see that agreement is significant in life. In language, too, the subject and the verb should agree to form a correct sentence.

The basic rule to remember is:-

A singular subject takes a singular verb, whereas a plural subject takes a plural verb.
