    Palace Preview! Friedkin Deal! Southall Warning!

    Everton’s challenging start to the season continues on Saturday afternoon as the Blues welcome Crystal Palace, with both teams looking for their first win of the season.  The news of an impending takeover at Goodison Park from The Friedkin Group has certainly lifted the spirits amongst Blues’ fans this week, however it’s on the pitch where Everton now need to put things right.  Sean Dyche may well be back to full strength given that Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson featured for the U21s on Sunday.  Branthwaite’s return can’t come soon enough given the fact Everton have leaked goals in their opening five games.  On today’s show, Ian Croll is joined by Tony Scott as they look ahead to Crystal Palace, picking their starting 11 for the match as well as giving their predictions.  Also on today’s show the lads discuss the takeover and what this means for Sean Dyche and the club as a whole.     Friedkin Everton Takeover: Everything we know so far!

    Everton look set for a new dawn under new ownership after an agreement was reached between US billionaire Dan Friedkin and Everton owner Farhad Moshiri on Monday. The Friedkin Group have agreed to acquire the shares of Blue Heaven Holdings Limited. What happens next is that the Friedkin Group will go through the necessary steps of obtaining approval via the Premier League’s owners and directors tests, the FA’s fit and proper persons test, and the Financial Conduct Authority’s test.  The process could take up to 12 weeks, but will likely be less than that, with no issues expected to arise, unlike what happened with the long-doomed bid to buy the club by 777 Partners.     Friedkin TAKEOVER AGREED! Leicester reaction: two points lost or one point gained?

    Reaction and debate following Everton’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. A good solid performance from Everton resulted in them picking up their first point of the season.  There were positives throughout, however, Leicester got themselves back in the game with the Blues relinquishing yet another lead. Ian Croll, Chris Beesley and Gav Buckland discuss whether it was one point gained or two points dropped. In other news, reports moved quickly today to reveal The Friedkin Group have agreed a deal to purchase a majority stake in Everton Football Club. The lads will discuss what this means as attention now turns to Crystal Palace at home this Saturday.  Jarrad Branthwaite came through an U21s match on Sunday afternoon and could be in contention for a starting place in a match the Blues really must win.     Everton takeover as Textor remains in pole position! Aston Villa Preview!

    John Textor is the frontrunner to take over at Everton but has to divest his interest in Crystal Palace first.  The club moved to distance themselves from comments made by prospective new owner on Thursday. But the US billionaire remains in pole position when it comes to being the next owner of the Toffees. Textor, who holds a 45% shareholding in Crystal Palace, had previously been vocal about wanting to own Everton, and spoke about his desire to purchase the club once again.  On the field, Everton are preparing to face Aston Villa as Premier League football returns following the September international break.  The Blues currently sit bottom of the table on zero points with pressure building on Sean Dyche and his side to pick up their first win.  In Friday’s Royal Blue Podcast, Ian Croll, Joe Thomas and Gavin Buckland discuss and debate the latest news coming out of Goodison Park.
