Jim Leach began his law enforcement career in 1975 as a patrol officer with the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he graduated with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. He went on to serve as a city police officer, a deputy sheriff, a Tennessee State Trooper, a Special Agent and Special Agent in Charge with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Director of Criminal Investigations for the Tennessee Department of Safety (T.H.P.). Mr. Leach investigated Cold Case Homicides for several departments. Director Leach, along with Jackson Tennessee Police Commander Dennis Mays and former Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Jerry Bastin, founded Training Services Group Inc. in 1994. In the next twenty-five years, the company trained thousands of officers nationwide. Mays and Leach produced and presented the T.I.T.A.N. Bioterrorism series of seminars for the University of Tennessee. Leach graduated in the 133rd Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy and was the Tennessee representative to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center for the S.T.A.R. training seminar. He also represented Tennessee in the prestigious Arkansas Leader seminar sponsored by the Univerity of Arkansas, Little Rock. The Director graduated in the first class of the Tennessee Government Executive Institute. Mr. Leach was honored to serve as the Vice-President of the Tennessee Narcotics Officers Association. In 2003 he received the Award for Outstanding Achievement presented by the University of Tennessee. Director Leach has been a Multi-Media Analyst and Consultant for W.N.W.S. Talk Radio for several years, hosting "The Investigator" show. He produces podcasts with Tennessee Underground, which are on the website tugnews.com.
