Witness Docs presents All-American, a series that zeroes in on sports icons to find out what their stories can tell us about America itself. Season 1 focused on the many chapters of world-famous golfer Tiger Woods: a phenom's rise, a shocking fall from grace, and debatably the greatest sports comeback of all time. Host and producers Jordan Bell and journalist Albert Chen revisit Tiger's journey to find out what the media got right, and what it didn't. Season 2 focuses on Venus and Serena Williams. Hosted by veteran journalist Cecil Harris, the story reveals ugly truths about how America often scorns and resists Black excellence. Customer Reviews
Some interesting; occasionally lacking insight.
There are some tidbits that are fascinating. There is a context that is well described. Problem is on occasion they managed to make it dull and sometimes I I felt HUH? What are they trying to get at....
The episode with the cross podcast was not very good and the discussion about Tiger’s mother was superficial. First two episodes were the most engaging.
So. Nice to reminisce. Not certain it will be as compelling to the generation who never saw the mastery of the golf course. Would be nice to have some description plus audio of “in your life!!!” Or “better than most!”
Superficial
No details of the difficult relationship with father, crossover episode was noisy and pointless. I kept hoping for more information or details that failed to come.
Too many adds
Podcast has potential but I just can’t deal with 10 min + advertising breaks.
Also can’t stand the guys from “The Distraction” done ruin this podcast by having them on it.
