Sexy & Surreal: Episode 8 - Scanners (1981)

Terry and Joe are wrapping up the first round of Sexy & Surreal with David Cronenberg's commercial effort Scanners (1981).

Obviously the exploding head is iconic, but the rest of the film is nearly as messy. An on-the-fly script and paper thing characters hint at more intriguing ideas than what is actually seen on screen.

Plus: mall culture, homoerotic tension, a terrible lead performance, and the Scanners franchise.
