In New York City where the apartments are small and the walls can be paper thin, you start to know your neighbors on an entirely new level. That can take on a whole scarily new meaning, but in our case we found each other, when we weren’t even looking … or maybe we were?! Both of us were a part of the “no-new friends” club; not that we don’t love meeting new people and getting to know them, but with life, our relationships and work schedules, we both are blessed with amazing friends and who honestly has time to get to know the neighbors? Brittney knew that Bevin was an actress of One Tree Hill fame and an incredible Soul Cycle instructor, and Bevin knew that Brittney was in some form of fashion media by the countless boxes that piled up outside her door. Flash-forward to three years later, and we believe there was a reason we found each other 3 feet across the hall. Sometimes we know when the mood is “not right” and when one of us is down. Sometimes we hear each other fighting with our SO’s. But something was different from neighbors that ignored what went on between those inches of space, in that we were always there for each other. We decided it was only right to turn our weekly conversations about life’s struggles and happiness into our podcast, aptly titled, "Be My Neighbor." Give it a listen – we would love to hear from you about your neighbor stories, life struggles, relationships, fitness regimes, etc. Little or big, nothing is taken for granted here in our safe space.

    Happy Non-VDAY / VDAY

    Happy Non-VDAY / VDAY

We haven’t talked about relationships in a while, and in the spirit of not “really” celebrating Valentine’s Day, here’s our best shot at our “NON-Valentine’s day,” episode for you. We wanted to answer some of the questions that YOU have asked us to talk about in this one, and we really go there. We’ve come a long way and dated a lot of special ones. From advice to meeting someone you really like, dating deal breakers from our vast romantical escapades, how long you should wait after you start dating (we’re very divided in on this one), it’s raw, honest an real. Just how we like it. Happy Non-VDAY/VDAY. Bev & Britt

BE MY NEIGHBOR EP. 28: WE'LL BE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

BE MY NEIGHBOR EP. 28: WE'LL BE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

The holidays are A LOT. We know. Whether it’s deciding where to spend them (which family gets which day), or how you cope with being at home for an extended period of time and not going out of your mind, it can be stressful.

In this episode, we talk about our holiday plans, how we divide the celebration with families and in-laws and some helpful tactics to maximize the time we’re fortunate enough to spend with the ones we love.
How are you guys spending the holidays this year? Tips and tricks to stay sane are most welcomed.
    Sincerely, Bevin & Brittney

BE MY NEIGHBOR EP. 27: The Carrie Chronicles

BE MY NEIGHBOR EP. 27: The Carrie Chronicles

This week we bring to you by far the youngest person to come to the apartment --bestselling author of twenty-one books (!), digital content creator, social media influencer and anti-bullying activist – Carrie Berk! At only sixteen years old, Carrie wrote her first book in the 2nd grade and is using her voice to impact young girls across the nation.
We didn’t know what to expect from Carrie and were both pleasantly surprised by her grace and maturity. She taught us a lot about social media (we even did a TikTok with her! YEP) and we got into the bullying issue and some of the helpful tactics we have both utilized growing up.
In a world where the younger generation seems to get a lot of flak, we love seeing a positive effect that Carrie imparts on others, and know we will be seeing much more of her in the years to come – paging @VOGUE.

BE MY NEIGHBOR EP. 26: Exhale to Inhale

BE MY NEIGHBOR EP. 26: Exhale to Inhale

This episode brought us back to why we wanted to start Be My Neighbor in the first place. At times it left us speechless, which y’all know never happens. We had been wanting to sit down with Zoë LePage for a while and so glad we finally had her to the apartment.
Zoë is an extraordinary women that serves as the founder and executive director of Exhale to Inhale, a non-profit that brings the healing power of yoga to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, especially those who could benefit from the practice, yet might not otherwise have access to it.  She started the non-profit when she was 23 years old and kept it going in tandem with her grueling consulting job.
Domestic and sexual violence is not just something that happens to others. With 1 in 3 women in the United States, and 1 in 7 men being survivors of this type of violence, it’s trauma has likely impacted your sister, your daughter, your mother, and/or someone else you love.
From speaking through the personal growing pains of starting a non-profit and shifting her career to head up Exhale to Inhale full time, the benefits of yoga for trauma, to how you can seek help or contribute to the organization, this episode served as a reminder of how grateful and thankful we are to have the ability to impart our voices upon y’all. To contribute to the importance of giving back and serving others, our cups are full. Happy Thanksgiving y’all.

Be My Neighbor Ep. 25: Can I Borrow That?

Be My Neighbor Ep. 25: Can I Borrow That?

With a closet full of clothes, yet somehow nothing to wear, the TULERIE app is helping women nationwide singlehandedly solve that problem. They’re allowing you to do something that we do EVERY DAY, to raid each other’s closets as if you were living directly next door!
We sat down with the founders of TULERIE – Merri Smith and Violet Gross, and they broke down their visions for expanding your wardrobe across the country, peer to peer.
    In this episode we talk:
-How the ladies took the leap in starting their own tech-derived business as Violet was simultaneously giving birth to her first child.
-How they pivoted when their first idea that was already in beta, was launched, by someone “very famous,” making them go back to the drawing board.
-Taking on a customer service based business that doesn’t “clock out” at 6 PM … or ever.
-How they grew their TULERIE waiting list to over 3,000 people !
We’d love to hear your thoughts and comments and would love to know if you would share your closet with someone you have never met before?!

Be My Neighbor Ep. 24: LET. IT. GLOW

Be My Neighbor Ep. 24: LET. IT. GLOW

And, we’re back. We’re so excited to release this episode with an actual neighbor from our building, Neha Govindraj @nehagov and her incredible partner Rachel Liverman @rachelista – the badass founders of one of our biggest new skincare obsessions - @Glowbar. We just visited the Tribeca location and are both going back on our own.

If you haven’t heard of the business that everyone’s been talking about here in NYC, @Glowbar is the spa-like experience that offers only 30-minute, custom skincare treatments ranging from any combination of chemical peels, extractions, dermaplaning, high-frequency and micro-current vibrations, and LED lights. Because who has honestly has the time and the dollars to pay for all of these every month? The best part about it - there only two price-points: $65 for a one-time treatment and $55 per monthly treatment with a membership.

We go in with Rachel and Neha about how they really started their business, what it took to launch (Did they quit their jobs first ? Have funding in place? Investors and raising funding? ) and what it felt like to take that risk. And how Rachel felt starting the business as a single woman, not taking a salary for over a year. The real sacrifices that you have to make in order to get what you want. At this point, we were more listening and writing down their advice, than actually hosting.
We would love to hear what y’all think of this one – we love the authentic notes behind it. And, as a special gift for our neighbors – if you follow us and @Glowbar and comment below, you will be entered to win a complimentary GlowBar appointment!!
*You can be from NYC or coming in for a visit!
