Ben chats with returning guest, Mary Beth Keefe, of the Granite Brewpub about being a second-generation brewer, what it means to be part of a family business, cutting back on beer consumption, the OG IPAs and pale ales that have inspired her, and ceasing to give a fuck when one hits 40.
-
#77 - The Leave Ugly
Ben and Chris answer listeners’ burning questions, including the proper time to drink a caesar, navigating an awkward office romance situation, threesome etiquette, telling your boyfriend about your stalker, and how young is too young for makeup. Plus, the sexist beer marketing conversation rears its ugly head, Chris talks about things he saw on social media this week, plus CERVEZA CRISTAL!

Ben pontificates on the virtues of heading to the bar solo.

-
#74 - Interior latex paint
Ben and Chris are joined by Toronto Beer Podcaster, Chris Schryer, to talk about the closure of the city’s beloved People’s Party of Canada rally location and COVID incubator, rant about the price of beer getting too damn high, and pontificate on why people don’t actually give a shit about tasting notes, plus a saucy Valentine’s Day Pell’s Corner and more!
-
#73 - Tuesdays come quick
On a very special episode of the podcast, Ben and Chris eschew hosting a guest in order to dive deep on important topics like rec league basketball blunders, American dive bars, the majesty of Michael Biehn, microdosing, Crash Bandicoot, and George R.R. Martin’s famous axe.

Burrito
Bens the type of host who’s not afraid to eat a burrito mid show, and this is the exact energy I’m looking for in a podcast about Ontario craft beer. Just the right amount of discussion of untapped (none)
Venn diagrams
I always assumed the Venn diagram of craft beer lovers and social justice/equity minded people was fairly small - me and my friends - but it turns out there’s a fair few, including Ben. It’s great to have someone championing inclusion and diversity in a meaningful way. It’s also a fun way to learn about the industry, a unique take on the Ontario craft beer scene and I dig the pot shots on Toronto, even though I’m a resident and former Londoner. Keep up the good work!
The title says it all (in a good way)
A show that makes me rethink the concept of Toronto being the centre of the universe.
Maybe London is where it’s at?
Great guests, and honest industry perspective that doesn’t always focus on the non stop fun time we have working.
Real talk. And then all that other stuff.
