City Of Ottawa's $60 Billion Climate Change Master Plan - Lowell Green Aug 25, 2022
The outgoing Ottawa city council, on July 6th, voted for a $60 Billion climate change master plan. Yet only the Lowell Green show is talking about it.
In the plan, we sill see the construction of 710 wind turbines within the city limits. We will see 36 square kilometers devoted to solar farms.
Additionally the plan calls for:
- Elimination of all fossil fuel use within the city
- This includes banning the use of gas powered cars
- Banning of cars in whole areas of the city
- Banning natural gas appliances
- Requiring new homes and buildings to be heated with electricity
- Existing buildings be converted to electric at the expense of the owner
Cost to be covered by:
- $118 car registration per year
- tolls to travel on city streets - GPS tracking of your travels required
- Daily fee of $20 per vehicle to enter city of Ottawa
- Permits to park on city streets
