Ep 1: Small Steps with Juju Chang: Leading with Empathy and Compassion

Small Steps. Big Change.

I am so excited about today's conversation with my friend Juju Chang. Juju's life has been nothing short of incredible. And if it wasn't for her small steps along the way, who knows where she would be. In this episode, we will dive into an array of topics, including the power of representation, work, life balance, self-care, and Juju's superpower: leading with compassion.

Juju Chang is one of the most prominent Asian Americans in broadcast news. Juju Chang is the Emmy award-winning co-anchor of ABC News, Nightline, and was a regular contributor to Good Morning America in 2020.

With the rise of hate crimes against the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, Chang leveraged her platform to become a much-admired champion of social change. Chang's highly visible reporting on Asian hate is the culmination of decades of covering everything from natural disasters to terrorism, mass shootings, immigration, violence against the LGBTQIA+ community, and most recently the inequities of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Known for her in-depth personal narratives and long-form storytelling, Chang has won a claim for stories with underlying themes of civil and women's rights and social justice. In addition to reporting, Chang has profiled newsmakers like Joe Biden, Oprah Winfrey, and Facebook COO Cheryl Sandberg. She has also profiled entertainers, such as Tom Hanks, Chris Pratt, and Nicki Minaj, and social media moguls, Kendall Jenner, and Dude Perfect.
