Hey friend -  my name is Kyle Buchanan and although I talk nutrition and health for a living nowadays   - whether through talks, videos, or as a resident contributor on Canada's "The Morning Show", it was NOT that long ago that I was an anxious, drunken, closeted, self-doubty wreck. Being a grown up is tough, and messy - where we’re confident one day and anxiety-ridden the next. I don't like faking it. I DO however, like getting it all out in the open, laughing about it, and then exploring a few tools that can help us feel better if (and only if) we are in the mood. So whether it’s solo episodes or honest conversations with spectacular guests -this show is the blend of revelations, self-help, knowledge and gay magic that NO one asked for, but everyone needs. And I'm so glad you're here.

Far from Placebo: The Rundown on Homeopathy with Rachel Roberts

Far from Placebo: The Rundown on Homeopathy with Rachel Roberts

If there’s a healing modality that can bring up some polarizing opinions… it’s homeopathy.

Some say it’s incredibly effective (even where all else fails), some scoff it off as nothing but placebo. Others don’t understand what it is at all, or how to use it . . .

So today- we’ve got an incredible expert on the show.  Rachel Roberts is the Chief Executive at the Homeopathy Research Institute, and she’s separating fact from fiction in today’s episode.

Personally,  I’ve been using homeopathy  since I was a kid, and it’s something I continue to use today in conjunction in with other modalities (which is a big opinion I’ll get into in this episode).

I believe it to be an incredibly useful tool in our toolbox, and for those who might not know what it is, or are feeling skeptical- today’s episode is definitely worth a listen.

    We're Covering:
Rachel’s explanation of what homeopathy ishow she started as a major skeptic, and how that changed (*hint- the Royal Family played a part) not just placebo - what the evidence says known conditions that have more evidence Rachel’s opinion on “no side effects” when it comes to homeopathy (it’s not what you think!)challenges when it comes to homeopathic research homeopathy for agriculture and an alternative to pesticides damaging headlines Rachel’s feelgood thing
    About Rachel
Rachel has a First-Class Honours degree in Biological Sciences specialising in Physiology from the University of Birmingham. She graduated from the College of Homeopathy, London in 1997 and was in private practice as a homeopath until 2012. Rachel has lectured in homeopathy and medical sciences at various colleges in the UK and overseas. She held the post of Research Consultant for the Society of Homeopaths from 2008-2012 and was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in 2013 to acknowledge her outstanding contribution to Homeopathy. Rachel joined the HRI part-time in 2010 and has worked for the Institute on a full-time basis since 2012. In 2018 Rachel was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the Faculty of Homeopathy for her highly regarded work in the field of homeopathic research.

Step by Step for Performance Nerves: This is My *Personal* Pre-Show Routine

Step by Step for Performance Nerves: This is My *Personal* Pre-Show Routine

It’s a sore sore feeling when nerves get the best of you, especially for something you REALLY wanted to excel at.

However we want to phrase it - performance anxiety, stage fright, butterflies, interview-nerves . . . it all produces a similar feeling in the moments leading up to needing to be “on” and perform at your best.

And these feelings - I should note -  are completely normal, they can even be helpful  . . . but it’s when they become  all consuming and that  sheer PANIC sets in - that's when it becomes a problem, and no longer serves you.

Annoyingly - I’ve had many times over the years where  the nerves and panic got the better of me, and my performance suffered as a result.  And even though I ‘perform’ in different ways on a more regular basis now  - whether through morning tv segments, podcast interviews or keynotes… the truth is, as an anxious-leaning person, the butterflies still very much come up.

The *DIFFERENCE* now though - after over a decade of trial and error, is that I’ve developed a pre-show routine that helps lay a calm foundation, so that when the time comes to be “on” I’m thinking clearly and able to perform at my best.

And I’m sharing that step by step with you today.

Feel free to take one or all and try them on for size, especially if you’ve got something important coming up - in which case - you've GOT this. 😉

Love these Podcast! Kyle is Amazing!

I first heard of Kyle when he was on Gina Livy’s podcast and I instantly fell in love with his knowledge. I went back to the very first podcast and I’m listening to them all and he is full of so much good information. I love that he has his dog with him as he records these podcast. I’d love to see a pic of Sam (I believe that was his name)

I Adore Kyle

Such a great podcast- it feels so conversational with a dear friend… the friend you WISH you had. The friend who is honest and real, but also so wildly knowledgable and helpful, but not preachy or righteous. Sometimes I just have him chatting in the background while I work as he’s so lovely.
