Girlscamp
I’ve left the Mormon church but, damn it, I just can’t seem to leave the church alone. Whether you’re navigating leaving a high-demand religion too or simply find yourself fascinated by religion (and where it can go off the rails), pull up a camp chair. I share my post-Mormon perspective on the quirkiness of church culture and the compelling journey of faith deconstruction. I’ll be reading and reacting to crazy religion story submissions, doing long-form interviews and deep diving into church-related culture and current events. All with a lot of honesty, heart and humor- because that's what Girlscamp is all about.

Love the energy she brings to these topics

Hailey does a great job discussing deconstruction, and the lived experiences of ex-mormons while maintaining a level of understanding, kindness and respect for everyone on their faith journey. I really love the energy she brings to these topics and couldn’t thank her enough for putting a lot of my thoughts and feelings info words.
I love so much about this podcast and what Hayley does here
18 sept.
I think Girlscamp does a pretty good job of creating a place for post Mormon women to gather and have some fun with the trauma so many of us have. It’s healing in a lot of ways. I think what could make it better would be to maybe lengthen the campfire chat episodes because so often it’s mostly Hayley speaking to her experience, which is so fair, it’s her podcast, but I always wished we got to hear more than three or four submissions. I don’t want to post a review only about critiques but I have a couple thoughts: many of the guests seem to have such little experience actually adhering and believing in the Mormon way of life and I wish we could have more guests that gave it their all well into their 20’s or 30’s and then left. There have been quite a few episodes where I just don’t care to listen because the guests never really lived Mormonism in adulthood. Maybe that’s just because that’s what I would relate to though? One more thought: $15 CAD a month is a lot for patreon and it would be so nice if there was a lower tier that could access the bonus episodes maybe without extras available to those who pay more? For those of us on budgets living in this economy, subscriptions are really the worst. I do love the fun spin that Girlscamp puts on the post-Mormon podcast genre and I think so much of what Hayley talks about is so important and relatable. I always look forward to Wednesdays because of Girlscamp!
Yep to everything

Grateful I’ve found this content. Real and honours the lived experiences of post Mormon women and men. Thank you Haley!
So needed

I can’t emphasis enough just how refreshing this content is. Deconstructing religion can be so confusing and difficult and finding community and relatability can feel impossible. Hailey manages to maintain a beautiful balance of light hearted and somber material that one can always relate to. There’s spaces for intense doctrinal debate or poke a bit of fun but most days I’m happy to sit and “campfire chat.” 🩵
