    Join in and listen as I speak with my friend Leah Wingard about Care and Prepare. Let's learn about their amazing updates. Leah is a native of Fort Worth. She knew early in life that she was a helper, so she has been in the Healthcare industry for 20 years. The bulk of her career was with Cook Children’s as a liaison to physicians and the community representing their centers of excellence. Leah has been with Care & Prepare for 3 years. As their Executive Director. Care & Prepare engages individuals, both healthy and facing illness, in a proactive dialogue around Advance Care Planning to ensure that their wishes for end-of-life are clear and honored. She mainly helps behind the scenes garnering support for their mission which is for “All people to live well All their days”. Care & Prepare does this by stimulating End of Life care conversations through educational events like this one. One of her Greatest achievement was Spearheading an 18-month physician education program sharing Cook Children's cancer research. Their team radically changed referral patterns, which impacted survival rates of high-risk pediatric patients.

    During this epioside I get the pleasure of learning about RetireEase. Elizabeth Trout is a Fort Worth-based interior designer and businesswoman who launched RetireEase in 2021, a firm dedicated to senior downsizing services including space planning, sorting, packing and unpacking, move management and resetting and styling a new home. The idea behind RetireEase came about years ago when Elizabeth helped her grandmother move from a two-story 2,600 Square Foot home in Austin into a retirement community apartment. Thanks to Elizabeth's experience, innate style and gift of organization, she was able to adeptly and compassionately help her grandmother downsize a lifetime of memories, furniture, books and belongings into a comfortable new home. Elizabeth had discovered her calling.

    Join in and listen as I learn from Dr. Brad Lichenstien about his wonderful work with BreathSPACE. Dr. Brad Lichtenstein believes in the healing power of the breath and meditation to shift consciousness and improve health. As a naturopathic physician, author, speaker and former professor and clinical faculty at Bastyr University for over 25 years, he created the BreathSPACE to help people cultivate the space to open their hearts and breathe into their lives with ease. Dr. Lichtenstein has a strong focus on developing psycho-emotional-spiritual health while dealing with chronic, life-challenging illnesses and trauma. He has taught counseling, mind-body medicine and biofeedback to naturopathic medical students and graduate students in counseling and health psychology, nutrition, and acupuncture and oriental medicine, as well as spirituality and psychology courses to undergraduates in health psychology. His contemplative approach to care, which integrates his years of study medicine, mind-body medicine and biofeedback, depth & somatic psychology, yoga and movement, bodywork and end-of-life care, was profoundly shaped by his participation in a joint research study between the University of Washington and Bastyr University where he provided over 500 guided bedside meditations to hospice patients.
