Talking Politics: HISTORY OF IDEAS
A new series of talks by David Runciman, in which he explores some of the most important thinkers and prominent ideas lying behind modern politics – from Hobbes to Gandhi, from democracy to patriarchy, from revolution to lock down. Plus, he talks about the crises – revolutions, wars, depressions, pandemics – that generated these new ways of political thinking. What a beautiful summary of Catherine Mackinnon’s plight, I just listened to. My deepest thanks to the creators of this program for the refreshing cold water that just quenched my ears and mind which have been smoking for so long. A true gift of happiness, this is.
Wonderful

Podcasts really don’t get much better than this one. Runciman is an academic but he manages to come across as just a really engaged and curious intellect, which is what typically moves the “academic” into the ”teacher” column for me.
Terrific series of talks
