Music as Medicine - How the Power of Sound Can Transform Us

Jeralyn Glass is an international opera star turned sound healer. Her new book Sacred Vibrations: The Transformative Power of Crystalline Sound and Music
    comes out July 23rd.

Drawing the attention of Gwyneth Paltrow, Jhené Aiko, and SZA, Jeralyn has become one of the foremost leaders in the world of holistic healing through Music as Medicine and now the publication of her highly anticipated book.

Glass, a world-class musician, knows why music isn’t just an art form, it is the universal language soothing our souls, healing our wounds, and uplifting our spirits. More than mere melodies, music is a potent medicine transcending barriers, offering solace, inspiration, and profound healing connecting us as one.

When tragedy hit hard and Glass lost her only child, a 19 year old son, crystal healing bowls were part of her soothing balm. She’s now at the forefront as one of the most revered originators of sound healing that is circling the globe transforming our hearts amidst chaos. Glass also takes her sound healing into the world of Cancer patients and has seen profound effects.

Heather and Jeralyn discuss why sound vibration is sought after and how our listeners can incorporate healing music into their daily lives, and so much more. Jeralyn even gives us a taste of the sound bowl experience towards the end of the episode.

All about Grief and how to embrace it with Susan Grau

Susan Grau is an internationally-celebrated Grief Counselor, Soul Healer, Celebrity Reader, and Intuitive Medium. With over three decades of experience, Susan's goal is to help others who seek to understand the afterlife and to assist with the deep soul pain of grief. Susan draws on her personal near-death experience (NDE) that occurred when she was three years old. During this event, she found herself trapped inside a freezer while guides from the spirit world communicated with her mother to locate her as she was dying.

Susan’s new book, “Infinite Life, Infinite Lessons” is out today. The book offers insights into healing from grief, mediumship and information about the afterlife. It combines Susan’s personal experiences, guidance, and practical exercises designed to help navigate personal challenges, identify spiritual blocks, and uncover one’s life and soul purpose. Susan and Heather talk about How we can use our senses to communicate with those on the other side and how communicating with those we’ve lost can bring comfort, closure, and a sense of peace.

Susan has been featured in documentaries, publications and special events such as Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP, Elle, The Hollywood Reporter, and James Van Praagh’s preferred mediums list.

Adam Gopnik: True Happiness, & Achievement vs. Accomplishment

Adam Gopnik: True Happiness, & Achievement vs. Accomplishment

Adam Gopnik’s newest book was released in April 2024 called All That Happiness Is: Some words on what Matters and takes a look at our society’s endless obsession with Striving. Gopnik says society is obsessed with achievement. Young people are pushed toward the “best” school they can get into. Adults push themselves toward the highest-paying, most prestigious jobs, seeking promotions and public recognition. The result is not so much a rat race as a rat maze, with no way out. Except one: to choose accomplishment over achievement.
A staff writer for the New Yorker since 1986, Adam Gopnik was born in Philadelphia and raised in Montreal. His first essay in The New Yorker, "Quattrocento Baseball" appeared in May of 1986 and he served as the magazine’s art critic from 1987 to 1995. That year, he left New York to live and write in Paris, where he wrote the magazine’s “Paris Journal” for the next five years.  He has written 14 books.
In the past five years, Gopnik has engaged in many musical projects, working both as a lyricist and libretto writer. Future projects include a new musical with Scott Frankel.
Heather and Adam talk about true happiness, and feeling a true sense of accomplishment vs constantly striving to achieve, the society we live in and much more, including the origins of Central Park in NYC.
