    Throughout the 2000s, the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Benefit—better known as the Met Gala— rose in exuberance and notoriety, becoming the Superbowl of fashion. No longer an exclusive evening for those “in the business,” the gala began welcoming prominent artists, entertainers, and politicians alike.
