Roy Green’s resume is outstanding. He is a three time consecutive winner of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters national Gold Ribbon award, Canada’s most prestigious broadcast award. Listeners need not read his resume to know that Roy is a passionate advocate for the average Canadian, with an unshakable desire for justice and a deep and abiding love for his country. No wonder Roy’s show has been cited by Canada’s parliamentary newspaper as required listening for federal politicians. Today’s podcast:
Toronto Metropolitan University students sends email to the university administration complaining about our frequent economics issues guest Professor Eric Kam. This time though it's about professor Kam being Jewish and what happened in his class which according to the complaining student "has left many students, including myself, deeply troubled. I hope and trust that you read this email thoroughly and would like this email forwarded to the board of governor at TMU."  The complaint suggests professor Kam displayed the Israeli flag as his background in class Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Guest: Professor Eric Kam. Macroeconomics. Toronto Metropolitan University. Tells me the story is entirely different to the student's description.

A different Mother's Day story from a mother who desperately loves her heavily addicted to alcohol and drugs adult son in Vancouver and how his life is spiraling downward. The son loves his mother and they communicate, but helping him is extremely difficult and when the mother convinced her son to go to a hospital ER his treatment there may be a shock.
Guest: Sam (mother) about her son Alan and how his addictions are destroying her son's life.

Mother's Day and a single mother from Toronto sends an email despairing how her children's school and school board are engaged in "cutting" her children from her life and parenting. (declines to go on air because she's afraid her voice will be recognized. Has complained at children's school and at the board)
Guest: Michael Zwaagstra. Manitoba teacher/author/op ed writer. Books include: What's Wrong With Our Schools and How We Can Fix Them.
And: Scott Taylor: Family lawyer. Taylor Law Group. Langley, B.C.

Gazelle Sharmahd. Her father, a German-American national of Iranian descent was kidnapped from the UAE in 2020 by Iranian agents and has been held as a prisoner in Iran since. He was targeted for his journalism and criticism of the Iranian regime. He was tried in an Iranian court and convicted and sentenced to death for the crime of "corruption on earth."
Guest: Gazelle Sharmahd. Fighting to save her father's life. She will be a speaker at the 2024 Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy, beginning May 15.

Balanced Show

Roy Green is a gem. His guests tend to be conservative but he bends an ear to both sides. Roy asks solid questions; the kind you’d like to ask yourself. A weekend treat. I try never to miss an episode.
