The Brian Mendler Show is the best PD out there! Grab a pen and a notebook if possible to record everything you ever wanted to know about behaviour within the realm of education. Learning so much
I have really enjoyed listening to Brian’s perspective on the “challenging” student, the ones I have coined in my class as the child who needs extra love and care. I have learned new strategies, specifically a different approach in communicating with my students in order to diffuse stressful situations and emotional outbursts. Connection has always been my first strategy and after listening to Brian I feel like I have other tools in my belt to connect in an authentic way, at the same time Brian has taught me how to “personally connect with kids without taking what they say and do personally.” I am sharing this podcast with my teaching friends and I hope to inspire some changes at our school in the fall. Thanks so much!
