108: Why We Suggest You Dump “Social Media Content Dumps” in the Bin

108: Why We Suggest You Dump “Social Media Content Dumps” in the Bin

Content dumps - dump by name, dump by nature. We are not fans of content dumps at all and mainly that’s because they just don’t make much sense! If you’re going to put in the hard work creating 30 new posts, why drop them all in one day, then vanish to never be seen again (until the next dump, that is). How, then, do you handle it if your client wants to jump on the trend and asks you to do a dump? Well, we’re covering all in this episode, so if you’re feeling bored enough with your content to want to try something drastic, tune in now!
In this episode, we’re chatting about:
Why we think content dumps are a silly way of posting on social mediaWhat is even leading people to want to do content dumpsHow to respond if your client asks you to do a dump for them… 😳What else you can be trying out instead of dumping your content

107: Write Better Copy so People Stop the Scroll and Engage with You Instead

107: Write Better Copy so People Stop the Scroll and Engage with You Instead

There’s a myth going around that people just don’t read captions anymore and social media is all about the visuals - and we think that’s wrong! We just believe that people are reading captions in a different way than how they used to, so it’s time we work on adapting to this new way of reading.
Basically, if you aren’t hooking people in and making it easy for them to read your caption, you’ll be losing readers quicker than a flash. Today’s social media users are so ready to be distracted by the next post, a different platform to scroll on or even just something else going on in the real world, that you have to have an amazing scroll-stopping hook to get them to carry on reading. You also need to be getting to the point quickly - no long winded, boring descriptions please! If you’re ready to increase your engagement by writing better captions, tune in today to learn all about copy and captions.
In this episode, we’re chatting about:
The way in which people have changed the way they read captions over timeWhat “copy” actually isWriting the best hooks so that people want to keep reading and how long your copy should beHow to format your copy in the best way possible

105: Why You Might Want to Rethink Hosting a Giveaway on Social Media

105: Why You Might Want to Rethink Hosting a Giveaway on Social Media

Social media giveaways - a very divisive topic! We’re all honestly probably a little bit sick of getting tagged in random competitions by our friends wanting to win yachts, blenders, hairdryers or any other random things they probably weren’t in the market for in the first place (although who’d pass on a free yacht?!) and this is partly why we feel like giveaways have had their day. In our opinion and experience, all they seem to do is attract people who love a freebie and wouldn’t be willing to buy your product after the giveaway is finished. But, there are definitely a few ways you can use a competition to generate good brand awareness, and we’ll be covering that, along with the legalities of hosting a giveaway on social media, too.
In this episode, we’re chatting about:
What drives us up the wall about the tag-everyone-you-know-and-comment-your-dog’s-favourite-food style of competitionWhy you might want to have a rethink if you think gaining followers from a giveaway is a good thingHow to structure your competition and content to ensure good brand awarenessWhat you need to be aware of when it comes to the legal side of giveaways
