Washington is preparing for its biggest recruiting weekend ever

Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies are preparing for the biggest recruiting weekend in school history and although four-star prospects Adonyss Currie, Elijah Pratt, and Andrew Marsh won't be on campus for their official visits, four-stars Madden Faraimo, Daryus Dixson, and Dylan Robinson will be. The Huskies are looking to close on a good amount of prospects over the coming weekend, including Christian Thatcher, Devin Hyde, Demitri Manning, Dijon Lee, Kaleb Edwards, and more, and will have some help from commits Dash Beierly and Jake Flores, who will also descend on Seattle for their official visits.

Washington adds Northern Colorado QB Shea Kuykendall

Coach Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies were looking for another scholarship quarterback to aid Mississippi State transfer Will Rogers and freshman Demond Williams and on Wednesday night, earned a commitment from former Northern Colorado quarterback Shea Kuykendall. The Huskies also have exciting groups of edge rushers and running backs who are somewhat underrated heading into the 2024 season and could get impressive performances from Jonah Coleman and Cameron Davis in the backfield while Jordan Washington and Adam Mohammed develop and players on the edge like Zach Durfee and Deshawn Lynch step into bigger roles and defensive coordinator Steve Belichick relies on Lance Holtzclaw, Maurice Heims, and Isaiah Ward to take steps forward.

Washington hosts two transfer portal targets on official visits

The Washington Huskies have two scholarships open on their 2024 roster and are looking to address them in the transfer portal, hosting quarterback Shea Kuykendall (who committed shortly after this episode was published) and wide receiver Zakhari Franklin on official visits during the week. If both were to commit, Jedd Fisch would be at the 85-player scholarship limit for the season meaning there would be no more additions along the offensive line, and the 2023 Joe Moore Award-winning group will now be headlined by Gaard Memmelaar, Maximus McCree, and San Diego State transfer Drew Azzopardi.

Who will be Washington's most important contributors in 2024?

Who will be Washington's most important contributors in 2024?

As Jedd Fisch prepares for his first year as the Washington Huskies' head coach, he has to replace nearly all of Washington's major contributors from the 2023 run to the national championship, namely Michael Penix Jr., Rome Odunze, Ja'Lynn Polk, and other stars who left for the NFL draft. Through the depth left on the roster and the transfer portal, Fisch's coaching staff will turn to players like Carson Bruener, Drew Azzopardi, Zach Durfee, Will Rogers, Denzel Boston, Jonah Coleman, and more to step up and become leading contributors on the 2024 team as Washington adapts to life in the Big Ten.

Washington adds two potential starters in the transfer portal

Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies added two starters over the weekend from the transfer portal, getting some much-needed depth along the offensive line in former Maryland offensive lineman and junior college All-American Maximus McCree, while Sacramento State safety Cameron Broussard appears ready to make a big impact in defensive coordinator Steve Belichick's scheme. UW Basketball coach Danny Sprinkle also rounded out his roster with a commitment from North Dakota guard Tyree Iheneacho who takes up the final scholarship spot for the Huskies' new head coach.

Washington mailbag: Recruiting, offensive line, College Football 25

Washington mailbag: Recruiting, offensive line, College Football 25

Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies have a lot of things to address this offseason, with a need for more offensive linemen and a quarterback in the transfer portal and plenty of holes to fill in the 2025 recruiting class which could be filled by players like four-star players wide receiver Chris Lawson, edge rusher CJ May, safety Ladarian Clardy, offensive lineman Douglas Utu, linebacker Christan Thatcher, and more. The Huskies will also be a popular team to use in EA Sports' NCAA Football 25, and could have some of its best players in wide receivers Denzel Boston and Jeremiah Hunter, quarterback Will Rogers, and linebacker Carson Bruener.
