The time has come. Jake Bates is now a member of the Detroit Lions
The Lions have done it. UFL star kicker Jake Bates has, according to ESPN, agreed on a two year deal with the Detroit Lions. Bates, who is known for hitting 60 yarders with ease at Ford Field, will compete with Mike Badgley and James Turner for the kicking job. It is a job that is in flux every year for the Lions it seems. Bates was All-UFL after making 17 field goals during the season for the Panthers. In addition, should the Lions entertain bringing back Adrian Martinez? Isaiah Buggs arrested again and Sam LaPorta gets some love again.

But he might not get the playing time he saw a year ago. We discuss Brian branch and the organization's love for him and the possible shift to Safety. Sewell not ranked at the top for Tackles?
PFF might be giving Penei Sewell of the Detroit Lions a slight by not ranking him at the top of their best tackles list. He did not even land at 2 either. We discuss. Furthermore, the latest Vegas Odds are out for the Super Bowl winner. Where do the Lions rank? We also discuss the Lions newest Linebacker signing and are the NBA Finals boring so far?

When will D.J. Reader be ready for the Detroit Lions?
How big of a concern is the quad injury to D.J. Reader? The lions biggest pickup this offseason is recovering from a torn quad and surgery, and there is a chance that he is not ready for training camp according to Dan Campbell. Could he miss the opener? Also not out of the realm of possibility. Reader is a huge asset for this defense and we discuss that. Who else steps up? Also, how did the Detroit Lions do in the PFF CB rankings? Will the Lions see JJ McCarthy by week 7? It does not sound like it. And a Big Sean story.
