    Amanda Knox Changes Her Mind

    Amanda Knox Changes Her Mind

Amanda Knox joins Ravi to discuss her riveting piece in The Atlantic, “What If He Actually Did It?” In the article, she writes about her support of Jens Söring, a man who spent 33 years in prison for a double homicide he insists he didn’t commit, and how she began to reexamine her advocacy for his innocence. Ravi and Amanda explore her emotional journey as she reflects on the friendship she developed with Jens, how the parallels between his story and her own influenced her stance, and the process it took to reevaluate her position on his case.

    Introducing 'Killing Justice'

    Introducing 'Killing Justice'

When a judge in India dies of a heart attack, his passing barely makes the news. But when his niece approaches a journalist two years later, she shares a different story: that the circumstances around Judge Brijgopal Loya’s death have made his family doubt the official story.
From Crooked Media and The Branch, Killing Justice investigates how one man’s death has become a lodestone for increasingly polarized politics in India. Following the reporting and legal fallout that arise from this tip, host Ravi Gupta examines the conflicting evidence and grapples with the broader implications a single night in the city of Nagpur has on the world’s largest democracy.

Refreshing and informative

As a Canadian listener, many of the topics covered in this show point out just how different our systems and policies are - politics, education, healthcare, etc. It’s nice to hear from informed and relatively level headed hosts and guests, usually without significantly bias lens and/or objectives. What we consume in the media is so often telling the perspectives that are from one side or the other. That said, the show has drifted a bit over the past 12 months from a format that contains discussions with debate to more interviews and information. I miss hearing informed and civilized debate - please don’t lose that initial fundamental element of this pod!

Not a debate

If you can get past Rikki’s inconsistent views and often frustratingly privileged takes , the topics are interesting and presented in a balanced manner

Unbalanced and uninformed

I came to this podacast from its 2-parter “unbiased” history of Gaza/Palastine/Israel conflict - which I thought was great. A lot of work went into capturing different perspectives, identifying where perspectives clashed, etc. however I’ve been disappointed in the episodes that followed. It’s actually just a couple of dudes waxing on with their POVs that, other than Ravi’s, don’t make much effort to be objective. This most recent Netanyahu vs Biden episode is particularly disappointing amd Ravi’s guest was so bias, eg his comments about the Harvard president. I craved truly balanced podcast and ended up finding this to be a regurgitation of CNN and BCC coverage.
