    Eric Blehm is a former editor of Transworld Snowboarding Magazine and is a New York Times best selling author specializing in adventure biographies. He's here to talk about his latest book, "The Darkest White" which is a deep look into the life and tragic death of the legendary snowboarder, Craig Kelly. Kelly is arguably the most influential Snowboarder of all time. His death in an avalanche in 2003 was a shock to the snowboarding and mountain guiding communities and the aftermath left many questions unanswered.  In the Darkest White, Blehm weaves together Kelly's biography, a history of the sport of snowboarding and approaches the avalanche with a forensic eye in an effort to make sense of the tragic event.     NewSchoolers.com has been the leader in skiing's freestyle / jib / park culture since 1999. In that time it has been bought, sold and restructured by their parent companies more times than you can count on two hands. Even though they we're being passed around like "Pokemon Cards", NS was the "cockroach" that just kept on surviving the mergers and downsizing and restructuring. Now, the inmates are running the asylum as the crew has just purchased the iconic title becoming, once again, truly independent.     Emily Childs is one part of the three person crew of fun loving, hard charging skiers, The Blondes.   Earlier this year The Blondes released their film, "How Did We Get Here?" , which answers that exact question, sharing a quick look into the histories of the three athletes and friends.  Emily had a busy winter this year with several big ski trips and a lot of time spent in helicopters.  It's not exactly what you think though.  When not skiing spines in Alaska or shooting promo photos she works as a helicopter pilot and talks about the process of getting her licence.  Em also tells us about growing up at Troll Ski Resort, a small little area in BC that was founded by her Grandfather and operated by her mom.     Janelle Yip is one part of the three person crew of fun loving, hard charging skiers, The Blondes.   Earlier this year The Blondes released their film, "How Did We Get Here?" , which answers that exact question, sharing a quick look into the histories of the three athletes and friends. This week we dive deep. Janelle or "JY" as she is usually called made her way to Revelstoke after growing up in Calgary with the goal of becoming a pro skier.  There she met Tonje and Emily and formed The Blondes!  We talk about JY's summer job fighting forest fires in BC and how that led to her working on a soon to be released film, from HDWGH producers CK9 Sudios, portraying the dangerous job. We also chat about overcoming her bad concussion, the evolution of the Blondes, inspiring the next generation of skiers, naps and much more.
