    Introducing: "Murder in Miami"

In the 1980s crime journalist Phil Stanford dove into the decadent and dangerous world of Miami just as the city was becoming the cocaine- and murder- capital of the United States. His path would place him in the crosshairs of a federal investigation focusing on a mysterious and controversial drug smuggling pilot who claimed to be an operative of the American government- all while flaunting his extensive illicit activity. Murder in Miami traces the connection between the murder of a missing Miami private investigator to the sprawling roots of an international money laundering scheme as Stanford tries to make sense of his role in a surreal story of spies, smugglers, killers and corruption. Good podcast but definitely victim blaming…

I’m enjoying the podcast and it’s a very interesting story, however as others have mentioned, it’s extremely one-sided and seems to blame the victim (Kim) for what happened. I understand that her family declined to be a part of the podcast, however Chris’ entire family goes on and on about all her bad qualities and how she basically ruined his life. I think it’s quite unfair, and the author of the podcast should have perhaps omitted some of it and stayed more neutral…. Otherwise a good podcast.

Biased and badly structured

Setting aside the bad music, the 12+ adds per episode and the unnecesary and abundant interviews, this podcast suffers from a terrible bias and horrible handling of information. It explains everything that the police did wrong in their investigation and then it goes and does the same to point the finger at the victim. I could list all of the omissions, contradictions and false accusations but instead I will limit it to the one that I thought was the worst offence. On episode 5, when interviewing a psychologist, they talk about mental illness as if it was the biggest clue to prove a murder suicide scenario. The worst part being when the so called psychologist states "bipolars are known for being very cruel". This is insensitive, unprofessional and blatantly ignorant. Terrible podcasting.

SO Biased and Victim Shaming

I have never seen such blatant hatred as that family had for his wife. Anyone with more than an GED made his family angry. It's like they're allergic to education or something. NO marriage is perfect, but to blame her for killling her dear children and then PRETENDING to have amnesia all those yrs is horrific. What a hill to choose to die on, Lauren. Is he out of jail YET? Has he been proven innocent YET? He was so controlling and believed in running an Army Camp style type of life where only HE was allowed to speak or make a decision is SO 150o's. Good luck with that, I say. We can see what YOU obviously can't. I'd give ZERO stars if that were possible. YOU caused more harm with your biased stance on this. And should be ashamed of yourself or apologize to HER family, at the very least!!
