I recently came across this podcast and holy moly it’s been incredible. I’ve been binging the episodes, just registered for The Refresh, and am already creating a plan to at leeeeast not feel pigeon holed in being dependant of social media within my business. As a highly sensitive + creative business owner this podcast has been soul nourishing on so many levels. Thank you Amelia for all the work you’ve put into this resource. I chuckled at myself for being like “oh man I’m walking right along the path she’s carved out for me, found the podcast, got the freebie, registered for the refresh” but like… I don’t even care. You’ve laid it all out for me, which makes taking the steps on the path you’ve carved that much easier. Can’t wait for more of your wisdom!!
This podcast is so valuable

This is the first written review I write on iTunes after years of listening to different podcasts, usually I rate quickly to support someone’s work I love. However, this time, I was compelled to sit and write down a little blurb because I’m getting so much out of this podcast. For context, I am someone who’s been self-employed full time for about 10 years. A lot of my business success came from social media connections that turned into conversion. I am not a social media “hater”, I find I got a lot out of it for a lot of years. However a few years ago, I found myself burning out because of constant stimulation and the need to keep making content and honestly realizing I was severely addicted to my phone and particularly social media. My screen time was very high and it was not good for my health or my quality of life. I didn’t want to be on my death bed looking back to 10,20,30 + years (the overall number possibility was scary) of 12 hour screen time days. I titrated slowly and moved my main core audience to newsletter over the course of a few pandemic years. 7 months ago, I left social media for good. I’ve been navigating, solo, and a bit lost and confused around do I get to actually never go back though? or is this a break of 1-2 years till I need it again? Am I the only one who’s doing this? Will that be sustainable? And then bam! Found off the grid. I feel empowered in structuring my business marketing moving forward sans social media and the best part is I feel way less lonely around my decision to step away from social media. I finally feel I’m not the only one who’s actually done it and isn’t just thinking or talking about it. Thank you so much!!!!

I’ve been waiting for this. Stepping back from Instagram this past year was such a good decision for me. It’s exciting to see and hear that there are more of us out there, creating wonderful businesses that support our well-being, our clients well-being, and align with our values. So glad I stumbled upon it, looking forward to more!
