S.2 Ep.2 - Bridging the historical gap with Rito Joseph

Point d'Écoute

History is a tale that reminds us of who we are and gives us clues on how to strive for a better future. Bota Bota has been, for 11 years now, part of the Old Port’s scenery and is loved by many worldwide. But to love this part of town is to also understand what it was and how it has changed throughout the years.

Rito Joseph is a historical walker, shedding light on Montreal’s past. Through his guided walks, he gives us a glimpse and a better understanding of the city- helping us time travel and recognize the role Montreal played in slavery. By navigating the Old Port’s cobblestone streets, he invites us to listen to the city and to look beyond what we know, moving collective consciousness, changing the narrative and slowly bridging a gap between the past the present and the future.
