S3e53 - Died laughing
Omg I’ve been a new listener joining in at campaign 3, and just hit the halfway point. I’ve been enjoying the ups and downs, the seriousness and the laughs, and Matt has made me long to be a better GM, and challenged me to try and make that happen.
But last night, finishing episode 54, the toy shop episode, that was the silliest and most hilarious so far. When Sam/FCG called for the party to follow, and Matt/Oltgar finished the line I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
Good show, amazing cast, and great pod cast.
Saved my mind thru COVID
I’d known about Critical Role for years already by the time COVID hit in March 2020, but listening to it always felt daunting because I didn’t have 4-5 hours at a time to dedicate to listening.
Enter a global pandemic and WFH.
It took roughly four years, but I’ve listened to every episode and started not one but soon-to-be TWO home brew campaigns of my own.
The talent and creativity of this group is unparalleled and inspiring.

I was intimidated by the 3000 hour run time at first. I listen to it while I’m doing my late night chores. Now I worry that one day I’ll reach the end!
Each character brings all sorts of interesting facets to the story, and they’re played so well, I often forget the cast’s name. “The Owlbear was awesome! He was played by… Molly? Oh Talesin!”
Matt’s story telling is second to none. He is always ready for whatever turns the players throw at the story.
So much more to write!
But I’m done pooping now.
