REAL TALK RECOVERY: How Can I Be A Sex Addict...And Really Not Want Sex?

REAL TALK RECOVERY: How Can I Be A Sex Addict...And Really Not Want Sex?

Caller Question: "How can I be a Sex Addict and a Sexual Anorexic? In a recent podcast about increasing sex drive, sexual anorexia was mentioned, and I looked into it. As a sex addict it seems confusing that I would also be a sexual anorexic, but the criteria seems to fit. My wife and I were physical while dating, but as soon as we got married the desire for sexual intimacy disappeared. The pornography addiction remained, but despite my wife's desire for sex, I struggled to be intimate with her. I assumed it was the addiction, but 3 years of recovery has not increased the sexual desire for my wife. Is it Sexual Anorexia? Intimacy Anorexia? Or something else entirely?"

Feudgirl ,

Thank you

There are no words for how much your podcast has helped me get through one of the worst times in my life. Thank you for giving me hope in such a dark place and for the knowledge and life experience you all give! It is still early on in all of this mess but I see the light at the end and will keep striving for that thanks to you three.

The map I desperately needed to heal

My husband told me about his addiction a year and a half ago. An addiction that has been going on for all 13 years we have been married. I was devastated and shocked and through tears and desperation I found this podcast. It has brought light and hope to both of us and helped us navigate our healing and actually gave us excitement and joy as we have worked together. Can’t say thank you enough!!! I love all perspectives and think you are doing amazing work and is inspired. So grateful to listen!

I Didn't Realize...

...that even though my relationship isn't in recovery, I am. I've been a victim of trauma over the years and currently going from it defining me to transforming because of my experiences. I am a 58 year old gal married living ilife in an "in house separation" situation. During the time this podast has been available I've dabbled here and there. This past week I listened to one particular podcast that sparked an awakening inside of me. I am so very grateful. I may not be able to relate to all of what is recorded, I feel there is some pretty spectacular information here. I will keep following Ashlynn, Coby and Brandon. Thank you for showing up here doing what you guys do.
