    Quotes & Thoughts:
“Stress + rest = growth. It’s a simple yet profound guide to structuring your days, weeks, and years.” -Brad Stulberg and Steve Magness

If stress plus rest equals growth, what does stress plus stress equal? Burnout.

I found that I was pushing and pushing myself and I was actually stagnating, if not going backwards in my growth.

“An individualized routine goes beyond just priming us to work. It also alters our biology, changing our hormonal profile in a manner that increases strength, energy, confidence, creativity, attention, and memory.” -Brad Stulberg and Steve Magness

What has helped me most to be successful? Routine.

Why do I have Starbucks on the road?

“Purpose fosters motivation; motivation lets us endure a greater perception of effort, and enduring a greater perception of effort often results in better performance.” -Brad Stulberg and Steve Magness

“The single greatest skill in any endeavor is doing the work. Not doing the work that is easy for you. Not doing the work that makes you look good. Not doing the work when you feel inspired. Just doing the work.” -Brad Stulberg and Steve Magness

It takes years and years of hard work to become an overnight success.

Love listening to this podcast!

The conversations on this podcast are thought provoking and a lot of fun to listen to. George is able to lighten the tone with his soundboard sounds or with a comment about sports or pop culture. I really enjoy listening and learning from this podcast.
