Ep 462: Behind The Scenes Of A $250k Launch (best of the podcast)

In this episode I’m sharing a detailed behind the scenes look over a $250k launch, because this is such a great example of the advanced work that you can do on releasing your perfectionism handbrake. This will help normalise the ups and downs of launching (regardless of what kind of business you have) and demonstrate the next-level mindset work perfectionists need to do once you’re showing up and putting yourself out there.
Tune in to listen to ‘real-time’ updates that I recorded as we prepared for this launch and through the launch period. I talk through the launch plan and strategy, advanced Power Planning, advanced troubleshooting and more!
What you will hear in this episode is an example of what we’re going to be doing in the PGSD Advanced Coaching Group. In PGSD Advanced, you're going to be working closely with me and a group of other like-minded perfectionist entrepreneurs to get out of your own way in a whole new way. I'm so excited because I haven't actually taught what I do behind the scenes for my mindset work before. I've been demonstrating it through podcast episodes like this launch debrief episode that so many people love, but I haven't actually had a way for you to do that work with me.
We have already done early enrollment for the PGSD Advanced Coaching Group and spots have started filling, but we will announce the official enrollment dates soon. If you are ready for the advanced work, then stay tuned to the podcast. You’ll get all the details so you can decide whether or not it’s for you.

What our goal was for the PGSD launch and how I decided what our launch strategy would be
What I’m doing differently compared with our last launches
What my self-coaching looks like during launch week
The mindset shifts that kept me committed to my goal
The statistics we were tracking and why

Ep 460: Using Power Planning To Get Into Creative Flow with Rachel Brown (best of the podcast)

In this episode I’m talking to one of our PGSDers, Rachel, all about using Power Planning to get into creative flow.
Rachel is an artist that enjoys capturing people and characters in her illustrations and loves to share her creative journey with others. She joined PGSD because she had spent years dreaming of pursuing art full time but was too afraid to put her work in front of potential customers and start selling.
With the help of PGSD and Power Planning, Rachel finally opened her online art store and made her first sales – all while working fewer hours than she had before. I’m excited for you to hear how Rachel used Power Planning to grow her business and become the artist she wanted to be (without feeling stressed).
Find the full episode transcript and show notes at samlaurabrown.com/episode460.
In This Episode You’ll Learn: How to never feel pressured or stressed when Power Planning
Rachel’s honest experience when she first started Power Planning
The practical things that Rachel does with her Power Planning to keep it flexible
What Rachel does when she feels inspired to create during her clean rest
How to stop resenting the time your full-time job is taking from your business
How to accurately estimate how long a creative task will take you

Ep 459: Creating The Emotional Capacity To Get Shit Done

Ep 459: Creating The Emotional Capacity To Get Shit Done

Two of my clients inside my program Perfectionists Getting Shit Done (aka PGSD) have given me permission to share this coaching call excerpt with you. In this call we are talking about emotional capacity and how to expand your emotional capacity so that you can do the things you need to do to build your business. If you resist and avoid doing things that are uncomfortable, this is for you.
When it comes to taking action we perfectionists get really frustrated when we have all of the knowledge but we aren’t able to do the things we need to do. Why aren’t we able to follow through? Because there is a difference between your knowledge and what you’re physically capable of doing (e.g. typing words on a computer) and your ability to experience the uncomfortable emotions that are required to get shit done.
Inside PGSD we support you fully with getting out of your own way and this call is a great example of some of the mindset and emotional work required to become someone who is taking consistent action towards their business goals without burning out.
If you find this episode helpful I want to invite you inside my program Perfectionists Getting Shit Done. We have just opened enrollment at the time of this episode being released and I will be teaching a live bonus workshop to those inside PGSD called Your First Power Hour to help you start Power Planning. It’s happening this Sunday 21 April at 7pm New York Time. To find out more about the program and sign up visit samlaurabrown.com/pgsd.

Ep 458: How I Transitioned From Full-Time Work To Full-Time Entrepreneurship (best of the podcast)

Ep 458: How I Transitioned From Full-Time Work To Full-Time Entrepreneurship (best of the podcast)

This episode was a long-time in the making. In 2019 I released an episode just after I’d officially gone full-time in my business sharing all of the nitty gritty details - the ups and downs, courage and self-sabotage, successes and setbacks. I’m sharing it again on the podcast, 5 years after it was initially released, in case you’re in the thick of this journey and you’re looking for something inspiring (and practical) to help you keep going.
When my goal was going full-time in my business, I was constantly searching for resources and advice to help me figure out how to transition from full-time work to full-time entrepreneurship. I didn’t have the confidence to take a blind leap of faith so I scoured the internet for wisdom on how to navigate it all. And to be honest, what I found was a little lacking! So I hope that by sharing the details of my experience I’m able to help you figure out when to take your own leap and how to do it.

This is the podcast I’d recommend to any new coaches out there

I found this podcast through Kathrin Zenkina and man after listening to 2 episodes I’m already hooked. I feel called out lol but in a loving way. It feels like someone point out my blind spot and reassuring me how I’m not alone in perfectionism also how I can start to change

My go-to podcast!!

I’ve been listening to Sam’s podcast for a year now and signed up to her coaching program Perfectionists Getting Shit Done (PGSD) as soon as she launched it. I’m so thankful for all that she’s taught me about self-trust, being good enough, shifting from a fixed to a growth mindset, improving my relationship with money and so much more. Episode 200 is related to my coaching call with Sam and I’m already seeing so many benefits since I actually started doing the work to praise myself.
The growth is uncomfortable but so rewarding and this is why I can’t get enough of this podcast and PGSD’s online community. Thank you for being you Sam ❤️

Great topic but podcast needs work

I think there are amazing tips and tricks within this podcast but the delivery, in my opinion, needs work. (Disclosure: I listened to only one episode).

It is not concise at all, and often repeats the same things over and over in different words. What was said in 45 minutes could have been said in 25 minutes and it would have been a much more clear and gripping podcast.

It also sounds like it’s constantly trying to plug the program. I think the program should be plugged but perhaps not mentioned every 2 minutes.

Also, the podcast could use some organization, dividing the podcast into relevant topics with defined beginnings and endings.

Love the topics and tips on this podcast but won’t continue listening for now because of lack of conciseness and organization.
