Early modern world, war, colonialism & pirates

This is one of the absolute best history podcasts I’ve heard, on par with Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History, Mike Duncan’s Revolutions, or any other of the landmark great history podcasts. It’s actually a comprehensive history of the early modern world, war, & colonialism, which intersects with pirate history in deeply meaningful ways. A fresh & illuminating perspective beautifully conveyed, interleaved with genuine swashbuckling adventure.

Compelling & Comprehensive

Unbelievably thorough account of piracy and of world history through a socio-political lens. This podcast invites new perspectives on European colonialism, economics, war, slavery, diplomacy, aboriginal culture, and everything in between. Who knew that what we’ve been taught as children to enjoy as tall tales, actually includes adventurers and stories that have shaped history! I can only imagine the effort made to not only compile research, but to create an informative and riveting episode each week. Love it!! Thank you kindly from BC!
