- Health & Fitness
Runners often make many mistakes when it comes to planning their training. A running coach can help fix those mistakes and train to your highest potential.
In today's episode, I talk with Eladio Valdez on Effective Running Coaching and his experience as a running coach for the last 25 years. As running coach and director of The Runner’s Edge for 25 years, Eladio Valdez III has helped hundreds of runners and walkers of all ages and abilities achieve their goals. Eladio has also worked in the past at Garry Gribble’s Running Sports, a running specialty store, for 8 years and currently has served as the pacer coordinator for the SmartPacing Team for many area races for the last 15 years. Currently, he is the co-race director for the July 4th Ward Parkway Four on the Fourth and November 20th Gobbler Grind Marathon/Half Marathon, which also has a 10K/5K option. Eladio has assisted various small to large-scale races with course design, aid station volunteers, and race promotion.
As a runner for 40 years, he has completed many 5K’s to ultra marathons along with 3 Boston Marathons including the 100th in 1996. His education includes Bachelor’s Degrees in Exercise Science and Health Education at the University of Kansas.
