A thoughtful and humorous look at the play, business and drama that is Toronto FC and sometimes Major League Soccer.
Episode 483 – 24/02/26 #nostrils
The gang is mostly here to celebrate the #TFClive 0-0 "win" over Cincinnati, discuss signings, preview the next match against #NERevs, a bunch of #CanWNT news with Gold Cup results and a lawsuit, talk MLS, CONCACAF Champs Cup and the usual malarkey. In this episode Kristin picks Austin because she hates them so much, Duncan makes a timely space shuttle joke again and Mark clearly sees the bullshit in the Voyageurs Cup draw.
Episode 482B – 24/02/20 #TheTickle
This episode is the extracted kit discussion from Ep 482. Kristin, Duncan and I are joined by special guest, friend of the show and the undeclared football governor of Ohio, Mike Hudson. If this is confusing, sorry. If you preferred this, you're welcome.
Episode 482 – 24/02/20 #DoIHaveToClickAllThoseLinks
The gang is mostly here with FC Cincinnati and Columbus Crew correspondent (FCC&CCc) Mike Hudson to talk some TFC preseason, preview the MLS season and their first match against FC Cincinnati, talk a lot of kits (sorry, not sorry), ref union discussions, #CanWNT in the Gold Cup, and a bunch of other stuff and malarkey. In this episode, Duncan was accused of being Mark, Mark isn't allowed to do Valentines Day, Kristin is still pro-union (of course), and Mike expected more of Tony from the submitted kit descriptions and he's not wrong.
Episode 481 – 24/02/13 #MamaSaidCONCYouOut
The gang is mostly all here to talk CONCACAF Champions Cup results and preview the next round, talk some signings across the board, discuss the resignation of Dino Rossi, the limbo of Tristan Henry, talk some #CanWNT and the Gold Cup, and the usual malarkey. In this episode, Kristin gushes over the postings of Mr. Fishhead in our comments, Mark regales the story of Mr. Noodles (amongst other things) and Duncan reads between the lines of a kit explainer like a good investigative journalist would.
Episode 480 – 24/02/05 #JouerATrois
The gang is mostly here and joined by special guest Steven Sandor (@stevensandor), editor at Edify Magazine, rehabilitated soccer broadcaster and author. His new book, on race, diversity and hockey, is set to be published by Beacon Press early in 2025.
Everyone's here to discuss the CanPL/Mediapro fallout, talk CONCACAF Champions Cup with Forge, Vancouver and Cavalry starting their campaigns, TFC preseason, World Cup schedule announcement, a bunch of other stuff and malarkey galore. In this episode Duncan admits to indulging in some 'American cricket' from time to time, Kristin swears she doesn't have World Cup ticket influence (sure she doesn't, a-wink), Mark renames the place Toronto FC plays (it makes sense) and Steven effortlessly slips in a 'Klingon' reference like a pro.
Episode 479 – 24/01/29 #HappyBirthdayOprah
The gang is here to discuss the messy breakup of Canada Soccer Business and MediaPro, and try to unravel what this means to supporters, talk Priestman's new contract, some TFC kit leaks, TFC preseason vs Nashville and the usual malarkey. In this episode Duncan wants to launch a Canadian version of a classic British game show, Mark will sign all the NDAs going forward and Kristin summons the genius of DMath to save us all.
Let’s laugh for the Reds
I try very hard to like this show. I’ve been a reds supporter since day one and can certainly relate to the generally pessimistic attitude of the panel, but all too often I find it too cynical and not particularly informative. I get it - fans get together and have some laughs. Just for myself, I can’t listen to the same jokes for an hour. This is pretty much the same reason I don’t listen to the football ramble anymore either.
TFC tawk at snark factor 10
Because it sucks following any team religiously, in any sport, really, and sometimes you need to laugh through the tears.
Other than the carrot/chip crunching, very informative podcast. Good banter between friends and covers more than just TFC. Canadian soccer, in general, gets good coverage on here. Very much recommended.
