Very Scary People
In the late-80s and early 90s, the quaint suburbs of Toronto, Canada were blind-sided by an unprecedented flurry of violent crimes: a serial rapist on the loose and young girls vanishing… only to later discover their dead bodies, dismembered. As separate investigations developed, police across the region followed leads pointing to a young, blond-haired blue-eyed duo. Over seven episodes, host Donnie Wahlberg traces the twisted path of Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka – a couple from Toronto that appeared loving and wholesome but had everybody fooled. We’ll explore how the boy and the girl next-door captivated Canada and became the killers known as “Ken and Barbie.” Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Well done Donny

You have the voice for storytelling. The disturbing updates are that Karla Homolka was released from prison a few years ago; and recently, thanks to our failed drama teacher of a Prime Minister, in the last year Bernardo has been moved to a low security prison.
Well done, Danny Wahlberg!

These podcasts are methodical, detailed, accurate and engaging. As a Canadian and Ontarian, I especially appreciated Danny Wahlberg’s coverage of the Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka murders—they both ended up serving time in my hometown. I will definitely follow this podcast if there are additional seasons.
Well done

Great information about two monsters who terrorized many. Donny has the perfect voice for this, and takes the listener through the story with a grave solemnity. I’ve heard some podcasts where the hosts are giggly and irreverent, and that just doesn’t sit well with me.

St Catherine’s is as much of a suburb to Toronto as Buffalo is to NYC. Niagara Falls is not close to the Atlantic Ocean.
