Kawakami’s Certitude is Galling
Anthony Slater is fine and Marcus Thompson is tolerable but Tim Kawakami …. I sometimes fast forward when I hear him begin to speak (which is often as he - unfortunately in terms of the quality of the podcast - speaks more often than his two colleagues) … his certitude is galling. He comes across as ‘all knowing’ especially on projecting about a player’s or team’s future fortunes. For example, it turns out he was dead wrong about Jordan Poole. ’Til very recently, had never considered the possibility that some day Poole might become one of the top 25 or 30 players in the NBA. Hey, Kawakami … young guys can get better, much better especially when they (a) work hard; and (b) have positive role models like Steph and Andre I. Therefore, earlier this week when he made a less than encouraging assessment of James Wiseman’s future prospects (vs. as I recall Jaren Jackson), I thought that his comments weren’t fair. Wiseman’s has played less than 100 games post-high school in is his very young career, to date. If Tim had any humility - after his botched Poole prognostication - he’d have said that he has little or no idea - like the rest of us - as to how good Wiseman will eventually be. He’s only 21 years old!!
Must listen for every Warriors fan
Great analysis post game with the variety of guests throughout the season.
