I det här avsnittet intervjuas Jing Wu, docent i sociologi, och Margda Waern. professor och överläkare i allmänpsykiatri, som tillsammans har forskat på självmord bland äldre och vilka socio-strukturella faktorer som påverkar självmordsfrekvensen i europeiska länder. Därefter diskuterar Håkan Thörn och Åsa Wettergren sociologiklassikern Självmordet, av Emile Durkheim.
