Inspiring Voices: Female Podcasters Showcase: The Cultural Conflict with the Pursuit of Contentment with Liv Dooley

We're continuing our series featuring amazing Christian women podcasters I deeply respect. I’m excited to feature Liv Dooley and The Best Kept Secret Podcast. Liv is a Bible teacher passionate about helping people enjoy greater intimacy and authority in Jesus and has been a featured contributor with She Reads Truth and the YouVersion Bible app. Liv never shies away from the Truth of God’s Word, and that’s why I love The Best Kept Secret Podcast. Liv tells it like it is with outstanding guests who feel just as passionate about unearthing the world's lies while shining a light on what is True. In this episode, Liv talks with Becky Beresford the author of “She Believed He Could, So She Did,” about trading culture’s lie of self-empowerment for Christ-centered empowerment. They discuss how, as Christians, we need to think critically about the messages we're accepting and adopting from the culture so that we can ensure they don't impede our ability to enjoy contentment. I know it will encourage you to find contentment and joy where you are today. So, without further ado, here’s Liv Dooley with Becky Beresford on The Best Kept Secret Podcast. Replay: How to embrace your season of waiting and live fully in the wait – Melissa Vande Kieft

I am excited to reintroduce an episode as part of our series "Embracing God-Sized Joy Amidst Life's Challenges." This episode has been a lifeline for me over the past year as I navigated a season of waiting for what's next. It reminded me that living in the wait is possible and essential. Waiting is something we all experience. Sometimes, our seasons of waiting are brief, and other times, they stretch on much longer than we’d hoped. In these times, it’s easy to find ourselves just waiting instead of truly living the life God has given us. In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Melissa Vande Kieft, a speaker and bestselling author of Living in the Wait: How to Use the Delays in Life Differently. Melissa's journey with waiting and discovering purpose began after an unexpected season of waiting. Even though her faith was challenged, her drive to make the most of the middle kicked into high gear. Through her experience, she encourages women to be brave and discover the details God is orchestrating through each life experience. Listen in as Melissa and I discuss how you don’t have to wait for your breakthrough to live your life to the fullest. You'll discover how to experience the transformative potential and purpose your season of waiting holds for your life. Whether you listened to this episode before or missed it the first time, I know it will give you the encouragement and hope you need while you live in the wait! Replay: Claiming victory over fear in trials and attacks – Susie Larson

I'm thrilled to reintroduce an episode that's incredibly close to my heart, as part of our series "Embracing God-Sized Joy Amidst Life's Challenges."  Whenever someone asks me about my favorite podcast episode, I always point them to this one. Not just because I had the incredible honor of interviewing my faith hero, Susie Larson, but because this conversation helped me break through a dark period of my life and shatter the chains of a spiritual attack. Whether you listened to this episode before or missed it the first time, I know it will give you the encouragement and hope you need for the battles you face now and ahead.  Episode Recap:  The presence of God is real because our God is real. He is ever-present in our times of joy and in our times of sorrow. But what do you do when He seems distant? What do you do when you face a trial or an attack from the Enemy that feels so deep you can barely breathe? Susie Larson is one of my heroes of the faith. She has walked many trials and battled many attacks to know and understand the Enemy's evil schemes. In her book, Closer Than Your Next Breath: Where Is God When You Need Him Most?, Susie helps readers experience God's trustworthiness and love—even when they feel far from Him. She states that our trials and triumphs are packed with opportunities that impact eternity and that God knows how to extract lies from our belief systems while preserving our precious hearts. God was so very good to me to orchestrate this conversation with Susie as I was in the midst of an attack from the Enemy. After our conversation, I walked away feeling like God loved me right where I was and supplied me with the tools of the mind and heart I needed to continue to walk step by step in His presence. So listen in as Susie and I break through the lies of the Enemy and fully grasp what it means to have the presence of God closer than your next breath.
