Letting Go of What Was to Make Space for What’s Next: Navigating a Move and Changes in Life

#339: One of our biggest shared fears, whether we admit it or not, is our fear of change. We fear the unknown because we don't know what to expect and certainty makes us feel safe. Sometimes, it's the certainty that holds us back from expanding in life. Recently, Emily moved out of her first NYC apartment after nearly 4 years, but dealt with some internal fears and hesitations that she realized was truly all mental. On this solo episode, she shares a raw conversation on her thought process in the move, how she knew it was fear, not intuition, and how you can push yourself out of your comfort zone, even with the present fear. Healing, Self-Love, and the Courage to Begin Again with Co-Founders of Sage + Sound NYC

#333: Lacey Tisch was born with a rare congenital syndrome that causes a slew of medical setbacks, some of which continue to affect her health today. Throughout the years, she received many external treatments. Seven years ago, she began dealing with medical PTSD...a result of years of being poked and prodded by doctors to “fix” her. The medical PTSD was exacerbated by being unhappy in her job and actively engaging in her alcoholism. She could not figure out a way forward. After getting sober, Lacey wanted to find remedies that didn’t require taking medication or having procedures. She developed a major interest in exploring wellness. Lauren Zucker is a dancer, and lifelong fitness and wellness enthusiast, who spent two decades working in the music and talent management industries. Lauren always thought her life would be lived linearly, that things would go according to a certain plan that included work, marriage, and kids. And then, life happened. Several people close to her were struggling with addiction and were in denial about it. She was also going through a painful divorce. After years of trying to ‘fix’ and help others, she realized, ultimately, she could only change herself. She made the decision to fully commit to her own path of healing. This sparked curiosity about all things self-development, healing, and wellness. She met with practitioners and self-discovery experts all over the world in search of peace and happiness, reaching the conclusion that a sense of community and connecting with like-minded people was the most integral part of her healing journey. Topics discussed: Different self-care and wellness practices to focus on, especially during difficult times in lifeEasiest way to make decisions in life, especially when it comes to big ones like divorce or breakupsHow Lauren and Lacey individually navigated their divorces in their 30s and overcoming the hardshipsThe origin of Sage + Sound and how hardships brought them to wellness and self-development, and ultimately creating a community and space like Sage + SoundTruth about "balancing it all" as women and removing the narrative that you can't embody all the things you want to beHow to be mindful about who you choose as your life partner Enjoy 10% off your entire purchase of any podcast merchandise with code "WHATFULFILLSYOU10" at www.whatfulfillsyou.com Follow Sage + Sound NYC on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sageandsoundnyc Follow the What Fulfills You?
