Black LGBTQ Historical Juggernauts and their Contribution to Black Liberation
To kick off pride weekend P.O.V. with Kyean and Dominique shed light on the Black LGBTQ people who fought to liberate Black people in many shapes and forms. They were casted into the shadows of homophobia and Kyean and I are illuminating these folks legacies and shedding light on who they were and their contributions. The Black liberation movement needs everyone and this a rousing call to action to oust homophobia from the movement so that Black folks can be a unified front in combatting White Supremacy. With this episode it is also our intention to instill pride in Black LGBTQ folks across the globe. Lorraine Hansberry, Bayard Rustin, Alain LeRoy Locke, and William Dorsey Swann were Black, Queer and we should be proud to count them amongst our civil rights leaders.
