In conversation with TV Presenter, Diversity and Inclusion Expert and Award Winning Author, June Sarpong OBE

Welcome to a new series of Realising Your Potential. Every week Anj speaks to inspiring women about their leadership journeys, the challenges they’ve faced and the lessons they’ve learnt. Together they explore what organisations can do to drive gender equality and how we can all realise our potential. In the final episode of this series, Anj speaks with none other than June Sarpong OBE, a true trailblazer. June has had an amazing career: she's been one of the most recognisable faces on British television; she's written the award-winning books "Diversify," "The Power of Women," and "The Power of Privilege" (with a fourth book, "The Only One in the Room," coming out in Summer 2022); and she's hosted some historical events such as Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday, interviewed some of the world's biggest names, and worked extensively with Prince Charles as an ambassador for the Prince's Trust. Today, Anj and June cover everything from affirmations to the pivotal moments that inspired June to write Diversify, as well as tons of practical advice on how to have better conversations about diversity and inclusion as an organisation, team, or individual. We believe in the power of conversation and gaining new ways of thinking that inspire, educate and empower you to Realise Your Potential. This week Anj speaks with Rebecca White Member of Parliament to discuss the gender stereotypes Rebecca faced when first starting out in politics, why Rebecca gets grumpy when people say quotas aren't a good thing, speaking in parliament with her baby and the pivotal moment that gave her the confidence to run for parliament. Rebecca White was elected to the Tasmanian Parliament in 2014 and subsequently became the youngest female leader of a political party in Australia. Since being elected, Rebecca has been appointed as Shadow Minister for Human Services, Community Development, Women and Aboriginal Affairs.
