    Mastering Polish Habits: Good, Bad, and Everything In Between!

    Lesson Recap: Last Monday's Live Session (7:00 p.m.) 7 day free trial https://app.learn-polish.pl Learn Polish in Poland  www.learn-polish.pl Last Monday, we had a fantastic live lesson focused on the theme of nawyki (habits). It was a valuable opportunity for VIP members to dive into discussions about both good habits (dobre nawyki) and bad habits (złe nawyki) in our lives and explore how they affect us. As always, VIP members received our email newsletter with guidance, translations, and key vocabulary to support their learning. During the live lesson, members could interact with me directly—whether they wanted to chat or simply listen in. We also engaged in speaking practice, breaking out into small groups to help everyone feel comfortable practicing Polish in a conversational setting. This allowed for more personal interaction and encouraged everyone to put their Polish into practice! To enhance accessibility, I’m currently working on adding subtitles to this lesson video, so all members will have an easier time following along and reviewing. Next Class Announcement: Monday at 7:00 p.m. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone next Monday at 7:00 p.m., when we’ll shift gears and discuss going to the cinema (iść do kina). With my own movie outing planned for Saturday, I’m excited to bring fresh insights to our next topic. We’ll explore related vocabulary and phrases, and as always, practice speaking together.     Everyday Polish: Using the Locative Case to Talk About Places

    Join our VIP community https://app.learn-polish.pl Learn Polish in Poland https://www.learn-polish.pl   Overview of the Locative Case The locative case (miejscownik) in Polish is used mainly after certain prepositions to indicate location, often meaning "in" or "at" a specific place. It’s commonly used with prepositions like w (in), na (on), and o (about). Quick Rule: For most nouns, the locative case changes the ending, often by adding -e, -u, or -ie. Let's look at how this applies to some city names.   Examples of the Locative Case with City Names: In Warsaw → w Warszawie In Cracow → w Krakowie In Gdańsk → w Gdańsku In Lębork → w Lęborku Notice that city names like Warszawa and Kraków change to Warszawie and Krakowie in the locative case. This follows typical locative patterns: "-a" endings often become "-ie," and "-ów" endings often shift to "-owie."   Additional Practice and Examples For more practice, join my Monday class at 7:00 p.m. where we’ll dive into speaking and listening exercises.
