History & Language clearly explained

I love this podcast. Kevin Stroud explains history, language and the development of both clearly and with a sense of genuine interest in the many subjects.

I wish that school days would have been like this. Primary school especially would have been less boring when we covered these periods.

I was lucky to be able to take Latin in school and to have a teacher who brought it alive. I loved the subject because I wanted to know the stories behind the words we use every day.

This podcast series is a must for anyone from primary school onwards who asks why things are the way they are.

Thank you very much for all of the time and effort that you have poured into this labour of love.

Excellent

Superb, slick reading and production, no nonsense, no time-wasting each episode and “without further ado” like so many podcasts. Fascinating and opened many avenues of knowledge for me. Highly recommended.

Brilliant

This is brilliant, a very accurate podcast about the history of the English language. All the important historical and linguistic facts are taken into account and the narrator speaks in pleasant pace and explains complicated topics such as Verner's law perfectly so that they become easy to understand. The episodes are well structured and highly interesting and they could just as well be excellent lectures at a university. I wish I had listened to this podcast during my studies! Thank you!
