This digital series examines parts of Yukon’s history that have lead us to today. We’ll go back in time to pre-contact Yukon when, “the whole Yukon was our school.” (TTFOCT, p. 21) In this series, we will hear voices from throughout the Yukon, sharing their stories, experiences, and knowledge.

In this introductory piece, Tosh Southwick explains the ideas behind this audio series. “When something really important happens in our communities, we make a story about it,” she says. “One of the foundational differences between a First Nations and a Western culture is the oral part – the idea that we pass our knowledge orally down the generations.”
