    Brad Stine ATP Tour Coach

Hello everyone, welcome to The Coach Steve Clark PhD Show where the aim is to encourage, inspire and equip coaches, players and parents who in turn inspire and equip others to promote tennis, foster sportsmanship, and develop greater players and people. So thanks for joining me and I hope you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the conversation. I’d like to thank Wayne Bryan for the intro and Mike ’n Bob Bryan for the music. A special thanks to all they do for tennis through the Bryan Bro foundation and more. Today I have the pleasure of reconnecting with a coaching colleague and friend I have not gotten to chat with in years but have seen him go from successful college coach to tour coach extraordinaire. Brad Stine. We are going to chat about junior-college-and pro tennis, parents of players, coaching at various levels, getting in an inside look at the best. And if you want to improve you should model the best, so today is a great opportunity to listen and learn. In 1991, after leaving college coaching, Brad coached Jim Courier to a #1 ATP ranking, 2 French and Australian Open titles and 4 Slam finals. He went on to coach other top players like Top 10 Medvedev, Top 5 Kevin Anderson, and numerous others and currently coaches Tommy Paul to new heights including a top 100 for the first time in his career, 3rd rd at the 2020 Australian Open with a 5 set win over Demitrov and a quarters appearance in Acapulco with a win over Zverev.

Anne White WTA Top 19 and Movie Producer on Nick Bollettieri

Thanks so much for tuning in to the show. Today, like every day on the show, is special because I get to talk with someone who Anne White, elite pro tennis player, movie producer, etc., has made an impact in the tennis world on many levels: on court, in the media and in education. Anne and started playing tennis at just five years old and by the time she was nine years old she was #29 in the U.S. in the 12’s. At 14 Anne did not have a coach during the winter and was only able to practice indoors 3 hours a week. Nick Bollettieri watched her play in the National 16’s and offered her a scholarship to train in Florida at what is now the infamous IMG Academy. After two and a half years in Bradenton, FL, she then went on to college at USC where she played #2 as a freshman. Anne finished the year as an undefeated All American and USC won the National Championship. Anne also won 3 USTA gold balls in one day at The U.S. Amateur Clay Courts in Pittsburgh, PA, winning the singles, doubles and mixed doubles. In 1987, after two years at USC, Anne turned pro and played eight years on the circuit reaching #19 in the world in singles and #9 in the world in doubles. She won one singles title and eight doubles titles with six different partners, including Chris Evert. Following her WTA career, Anne has been involved in a broad array of endeavors including color commentary for professional tennis tournaments and in addition to her directing tennis at the Beverly Hills Tennis Club she produced a feature documentary about Bollettieri for SHOWTIME, “Love Means Zero“ and co-producing a new online interactive reading platform called REED (Read, Experience, Explore and Dream).

Allon Khakshouri Mental Toughness Former Djokovic Agent

The Coach Steve Clark PhD Show with Allon Khakshouri Hello everyone, welcome to The Coach Steve Clark PhD Show where the aim is to encourage, inspire and equip coaches, players and parents who in turn inspire and equip others to promote tennis, foster sportsmanship, and develop greater players and people. So thanks for joining me and I hope you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the conversation. My guest today is Allon Khakshouri, with whom I discuss the mental side of tennis particularly gleaning from his background as an agent of professional tennis players, three of them world #1’s including Novak Djokovic and Marat Safin. Allon is a current member of the ATP council, has written a helpful The Ultimate guide to High Performance and his insights are not just for tennis but business etc. We will be discussing what makes a mentally tough tennis player, how to become a tough competitor (what shapes our practice and how to play like we practice better), what do do after painful losses, how to balance the passion and drive to win and the ability to “not care” so much about the outcome, etc. All these and more are seen from the perspective of what separates great players from good players at the every day level and what separates the better even among great players. Be sure to see CoachSteveClarkPhD.Com for other podcasts, blogs, resources and discussions. Share and like it and visit me at @CoachClarkPhD on Twitter as well. The introduction music is “Let it Rip” by Mike and Bob Bryan band and the narrator is Wayne Bryan. Thanks for your continued support. Special thanks to our sponsors Arrow Concrete and Asphalt Specialties, Inc and Collins Company tennis court products. Both fantastic groups of professional people who do their work with integrity and relationship. See my resource page of court equipment and services for more information. You can reach Allon and read his material at his website Mental Game of Tennis or www.mentalgameoftennis.com
