Media Jobs Interviews: Laugh.ly The Digital Comedy Play

Media Jobs Interviews: Laugh.ly The Digital Comedy Play

We talk with Dave Scott, the CEO of Laugh.ly about how he expects to turn comedy into a lucrative business. Listen in to learn about how profitable a laugh can be.

"The reason I started Laugh.ly was because I actually did stand-up comedy for a year. After I sold my last company, I did open mics and then worked my way up to big headliners and I realized how much people love comedy. In fact, of the 160 people that actually have accounts on Facebook, 91 million of them actually say that stand-up comedy is one of their top five interests. Over 50 million tickets were sold last year to comedy clubs in the United States. That means it's lot of people who love to laugh, and so what we wanted to do was to create a built-from-the-ground-up streaming app focused primarily on stand-up comedy."

Media Jobs Interviews: FuseMachines Artificial Intelligence Lead Machine

At Media Jobs we are always interested in finding the most innovative companies where you might want to work. The big talk today is about Artificial Intelligence and today we're talking with a company that is using the technology to drive more sales.
The artificial Intelligence lead machine has arrived! The name of the lead master is Fusemachines and Sameer Maskey, Founder and CEO, and his team have been developing the software that applies Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning to the process of lead generation for B2B companies.

Its taken 3 PHD's and 30 engineers to create SAM, the name they are calling their AI system. But it gets better. SAM interacts with humans through emails, mobile apps and sales software and learns from user behavior to perform some of the same tasks automatically. SAM learns and improves itself everyday!

Today, with a staff of 80 the company is blazing a trail to take the pain out of lead gen so that us humans can focus more on cash generation then lead generation.

In this podcast I speak with Alex Roeskestad from Fusemachines recently and he talked about how everything works and some of the customers that are currently benefiting from SAM.

In this interview we will learn about a disability innovation from a new company that could help disabled people regain their voice. About 1.5% of people in the Western World have some form of communications limitations due to medical conditions including Motor Neurone Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, Brain Damage and Autism. Current "talk" solutions utilize body movements however they do not truly enable the individuals to actually speak. Talkitt is unique in that it is an inexpensive smart phone app that will use the users own voice to communicate.

Imagine having something to say but no way to communicate it. Talkitt’s Chief Executive (CEO) Danny Weissberg came up with the idea in Israel back in 2012 after his grandmother had a stroke that severely impaired her speech. We spoke with Talkitt's US head of Business Development, Sara Smolley to learn more about this yet to be released product.
