WHAT'S WRONG WITH REAL HOUSEWIVES?.. COLLEGE BASKETBALL PLAYER ALLEGEDLY ENDS LIFE OF 23-YEAR OLD MOTHER BECAUSE SHE REJECTED HIM ON THE STREET, LORI HARVEY'S NEW BAE

@MelaninMePodcast Mia and Whitney are back with their Melanin ME Podcast after MLK Day, giving a shout out to MLK and Coretta Scott King. Mia also shares that she is finally caught up on her shows, and they start discussing the current season of Potomac Real Housewives. This conversation shows the importance of celebrating MLK Day and how black issues are still relevant in today's society. The speaker reviews season 6 of the Real Housewives of Potomac with a rating of 6/10. They have a particular dislike for Robin and Gisele, feeling they contribute nothing to the show and have become the leaders of a mean girl crew. They are confused by the sudden outrage over Karen slamming her fist in the table, pointing out that Wendy had been disrespected far worse with drinks thrown in her face and being assaulted with a purse. They don't understand why suddenly Charice is being referred to as the queen of Potomac when she was kicked off season two. The speaker suggests the show should pick someone else for the next season. Whitney and Mia also discuss the tragic viral story of Darius Miles allegedly shooting Jamea Jonae Harris TIMESTAMPS    0:00:04   Conversation Summary: Reflections on MLK Day and Potomac Real Housewives   0:02:33   Review of Season 6 of "Real Housewives of Potomac" - Flaws and Potential Improvements   0:06:01   Conversation Summary: Robin and Giselle's Potential Departure from the Show and Potential Replacement   0:07:44   Analysis of Mia and Jacqueline's Relationship on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta"   0:11:32   Conversation Analysis: The Dangers of Tolerating Toxic Friendships   0:13:12   Analysis of "Real Housewives of Potomac" Drama Between Mia, Jacqueline, Robin, and Gisele   0:19:00   Discussion on the Housewives of the Tomb and the Viral Case of Jamia Jonae Harris   0:20:49   Heading: Summary of Viral Story of Darius Miles and Tamia Harris Shooting Incident   0:22:25   Conversation Summary: Reactions to a Story of Rejection and Its Impact on a College Basketball Player   0:26:46   Investigating the Alleged Capital Murder of Jamia Harris: Darius Miles   0:28:27   Discussion on Social Media and Reckless Attitudes Towards Life   0:30:02   Conversation on Desensitization and Social Media's Impact on Youth   0:33:14   Conversation on the Impact of Technology on Education and Communication   0:35:07   Heading: Discussion of Recent Events and Shout Out to New Celebrity Couple   0:40:48   Analysis of Lori Harvey and Damson Idris' Relationship   0:45:23   Analysis of Lori Harvey's Relationship with Paparazzi and Possible Career Paths   0:48:59   Conversation on Lori Harvey's Influence on the Aesthetic Look of Black Women   --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/melaninme/support

Was Aaliyah Sold to R. Kelly?

Aaliyah Haughten will forever be known as the princess of r&b. Her music and legacy has lived well past her 22 years of life. The mystery of her life and tragic death is still one being discussed and examined, maybe even more so today. Recently, lifetime Network released the final chapters of surviving r Kelly, a docu-series following the former superstars path that led him to currently serving time in federal prison. Although #Aaliyah and Kelly's former inappropriate relationship is no secret to the public today, the lifetime docu-series revealed some new information about the artist former relationship. Kelly and Aaliyah were married in secret in August, 1994, when Aaliyah was just 15 years old. And Kelly 27. After finding out that an underaged Aaliyah wed Kelly, her parents reportedly annulled the marriage several months later, in February of 1995. According to the documentary, Aaliyah's family signed a contract with Kelly that promised they would not press charges against him for the illegal marriage as long as Kelly promised to sell them the rights to his first three albums. As the years pass and more details come to light, it seems like Aaliyah's past was far more gruesome than everyone may have thought. The lifetime docu-series also claimed Kelly was violent with Aaliyah on top of their illegal sexual relationship. Aaliyah's parents were not the only adults who knew about her abuse, allegedly. According to Kelly's former backup singer, Aaliyah's uncle and manager, Barry Hankerson not only knew of Kelly's inappropriate relationship with his niece, but used access to Aaliyah as a bargaining chip when he wanted Kelly to renew his management contract. If only Aaliyah had trustworthy adults around her while she was pursuing her musical dreams, maybe then her story would not have played out so tragically. Despite the controversy and negative press, Aaliyah's angelic voice and magnetic aura will continue to be beloved by millions of her fans all over the world.
