#5 Body dysmorphia doesn't just disappear ft. Alia Zaita

Youtber Alia Zaita and I are reflecting on our past and present experience with our body dysmorphia and ED. We'll especially reflect on obstacles we had to overcome and sometimes still struggle with, plus, why (social) media can be so damaging on our mental health. We both share our thoughts on healing, acceptance and prevention as well as how to deal with relapsing. What actions did we take to let go of our toxic image of ourselves ? Why do we have to learn about all of this ? Is there hope ? How does it even start ? Find out in this weeks episode of phine things.

#4 Let's talk about mental health pt.1 – addressing my binge-eating disorder and how I healed

#4 Let's talk about mental health pt.1 – addressing my binge-eating disorder and how I healed

Happy (late) new year guys ! The holidays are over and we're (finally) in 2021. The just passed Christmas and new year's spirit can be very overwhelming and exhausting for those who have, or still struggle with an eating disorder, since we are surrounded by so much more food and often very unrealistic New Years resolutions. To start this year on a mindful note, I want to share my own personal experience I had with the binge eating disorder and body dysmorphia in my earlier teenage years. I'll also look back at how I've healed and overcame this experience until today ( I am still struggling sometimes, since healing is not a linear process). This is another two-part episode so, I'll get more into dealing with relapsing, social media, tips and more in the next part. I hope that this will remind you to look after your mental wellbeing and not loose faith in yourself. Please remember, that there is always help and it is not your fault that you're struggling. Life is hard ! We all have to overcome certain challenges in life, even if they seem unfair. And we all can overcome these burdens somehow. Please be kind to yourself and allow yourself to feel. Take care xx

#1 Not your average coffee talk ft. Diyan Duke

#1 Not your average coffee talk ft. Diyan Duke

Welcome to the first episode of "Phine Things" ! My guest for this episode: The artist Diyan Duke, aka Transatlanticbounce_art on social media. We've met through our love for sneakers in Bremen's finest sneaker store (Glückstreter). But besides our shared love for fashion and kicks, there's another thing we have in common - the uncomfortable and daily confrontations we have to face because of being black. Both of us share our different experiences of being black both in Germany and the States, since Diyan is a black American from Louisville, Kentucky and I am a black girl who grew up in northern Germany. Regarding the #blacklivesmatter movement and both of us experiencing racism, we know the impact that racism has on the society and system we live in. That's why we specifically tackle the different layers of racism and why things like colorism and light/white skin privilege are so dangerous. We also discuss on  what would actually have to change in order to truly eliminate racism. However, we  also dive into what being a creative is like and dive into what brought Diyan to become the artist he is today, why he left behind America to start a new life here in Germany a decade ago and finding inspiration. So sit down and grab yourself a coffee, because this is for sure an interesting convo that you won't want to miss out on !
