Quidnessett Baptist Church
QBC Weekly Sermons

This podcast hosts the sermons delivered every Lord's day morning, and evening, at Quidnessett Baptist Church in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Quidnessett Baptist Church is a church with a rich past, vibrant present, and visionary future. Celebrating over 180 years of the Lord’s blessings, QBC unashamedly proclaims herself as a local assembly adhering to sound Biblical principles and clear scripturally derived doctrinal positions. We are an independent Baptist church affiliated with no organization or denomination apart from historic Baptist roots. As a congregation we affirm and subscribe to the Second London Baptist Confession of 1689. We are an autonomous church operating under the government of Elders and Deacons. The Apostle Paul wrote in his first epistle to a young pastor named Timothy an important and vital statement concerning the church. In 1 Timothy 3:15, the apostle declared the church of the living God is the pillar and ground of the truth. Quidnessett Baptist Church seeks to embrace and embody this truth through its worship, instruction, fellowship and evangelism. We view our existence solely to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. If you are looking for a church home, we invite you to spend time listening to these sermons, or visit our website, and get to know us a little better. In the event you may have questions, please feel free to contact us. Our Motto Our church motto is Pleasing God, Making Disciples of Jesus Christ. It is located above our choir loft for all to see each Lord’s Day as a scriptural reminder of our purpose as a body of believers in Jesus Christ. The motto compliments our vision and is rooted in two specific portions of the Word of God. Thessalonians 4:1 – Paul desired for the Thessalonians to abound more and more in their Christian walk and for the purpose of PLEASING GOD. We strive to please God and to be thoroughly committed to that highest standard in all human activity. Matthew 28:20 – Our Lord Jesus prior to His ascension commands His followers to be about the privilege and responsibility of MAKING DISCIPLES. We strive to ensure we not only present the Gospel, but to challenge unbelievers to become committed disciples of Jesus Christ following Him for a lifetime.

The Fall and Rise of Peter and the Disciples

And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ 28 But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.” 29 Peter said to him, “Even though they all fall away, I will not.” 30 And Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” 31 But he said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same. 66 And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came, 67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.” 68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you mean.” And he went out into the gateway and the rooster crowed. 69 And the servant girl saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.” 70 But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter, “Certainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.” 71 But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.” 72 And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept.  Mark 14:27-31, 66-72 I.
